Alana Ward Robinson is a creative business executive with more than thirty years of corporate experience in driving increased value through technology leadership and innovation. She has led business process reengineering initiatives up to $100
million, served as CIO of companies with revenues up to $5 billion and held seats on numerous civic and non-profit boards. Since 2004, she has applied that expertise as an entrepreneur with a company, Robinson Group Consulting Inc., formed to deliver strategic global information technology consulting services with a specific focus on business strategy and analysis, ERP Project implementation and interim IT leadership engagements.
Throughout her career, Ms. Robinson has developed extensive experience partnering with executive teams and other strategic alliances to create, communicate and execute broad-based change agendas. Her leadership has helped corporations to use technology to manage complex supply chain environments across multiple lines of business, both nationally and internationally. As such, her expertise in advising corporations about technology organization effectiveness, strategic technology solutions and project implementations includes the ability to ensure executive alignment, integrate people and processes, effectively manage risks and drive measurable value from multi-billion dollar IT investments and budgets.
The firm’s initial engagement involved a multi-year $30 million global enterprise business process redesign and implementation of SAP Technology at at $1 billion revenue supply chain management service provider across 40 worldwide locations. She led the feasibility analysis and tool selection, developed the business case for the cost/benefit analysis, influenced buy-in of company leadership and gained board approval for the strategic initiative. In her consulting role, she also served for two years as the Interim Technology Executive of the global design, development and delivery of this company’s new global supply chain capabilities and managed the RFP process for the outsourced global technology infrastructure in Singapore.
Ms. Robinson’s career has progressed by building upon an initial 18 years of IBM leadership and technology experience with a series of executive positions in major corporations including RR Donnelley (DiMS ERP”); Sara Lee Hosiery (SAP R/3″), Coors Brewing Company (SAP R/3), Public Service Company of Colorado (now Xcel Energy) and Pace Membership Warehouse/Kmart. Her accomplishments include leading a $100 million multi-year business process redesign program at RR Donnelley resulting in an $82 million annual cost savings and sponsoring a three-year, $50 million SAP/R3 implementation for Sara Lee Hosiery that delivered a $100 million inventory reduction and a 98 percent service level improvement.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in applied mathematics and computer science from Grambling State University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University, where she was elected president of her class.
