SPURRING MANUFACTURING THROUGH INNOVATION IN BLACK COMMUNITIES

SPURRING MANUFACTURING THROUGH INNOVATION IN BLACK COMMUNITIES is the focus of Innovation & Equity, the 11th annual 50 Most Important African-Americans in Technology Symposium on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 in the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.

The theatre, as 1215 U Street,  is the hub of the black heritage trail in the nation’s capitol, adjacent to the 250,000 names of Civil War veterans in the Black Civil War Memorial and culinary landmark Ben’s Chili Bowl.

General admission and group seating during the symposium is available online.

Since the 10th annual Innovation & Equity Symposium, selectees participated in nine local and regional outreach events and in a pilot of a high school biotechnology curriculum based on culturally responsive content as part of the objective of increasing the number and impact of the 600,000 African-Americans in information technology.
